Excerpt from Beautiful Gladiolus, 1932
Glorianna is a wonderful show flower when well grown. Its rich salmon-pink flowers are very delicate. Catherine Coleman is a large, tall salmon rose-pink with just a touch of purple pencilings on the lower petals. It is always a prize-winner. Rameses is a new Giant purple with wide-open flowers often measuring seven inches across. The spike is well balanced and very tall. Rameses created a sensation in our Gardens and also at the Minnesota Gladiolus Show. Melody is a rich lemon - yellow with the ends of the petals beautifully bordered with a delicate orange-red. A very striking variety when used for design work, baskets, or vases.
