In the year 1802, and in a fubfequent one, Mr. Gilpin prepared a number of drawings for fale, the produce of his own pencil, for the endowment of a fchool for the benefit of the day labouring part of the parifhioners of Boldre, and affixed the two Effays to the fale catalogues, for which they were particularly written. It is to thefe fales that remarks in the Efiays fo fre quently refer. It was at firft intended to omit.
